The Band down through the years have had many achievements, ranging from first place in the Southern Region Band Championships on several occasions, Feis Mathew competitions, also winning many awards in Ensemble and Quartet competitions.
The Band have a very long history with the Band 1 Southern Brigade as many of our members have gone on to made careers out of the Army School of Music.
In 2010 The Cork Butter Exchange Brass & Reed Band took to the stage with The Barrack Street Silver & Reed Band as part of their Annual Concert in Cork City Hall. The Concert was a great success and launched “The Barracka – Buttera Song” composed by Richard Cook. It is available by contacting both Bands.
In 2011 the band was awarded Local and Community award for our contribution to the city over the last 134 years.
